AHEPA Remembers 9/11


WASHINGTON - Anthony Kouzounis, supreme president of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA), a leading association for the nation's millions of American citizens of Greek heritage and Philhellenes, has issued the following statement on the twelfth anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks:
"Today, on the twelfth anniversary of September 11th, we remember the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks against our nation. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and their families always. They will never be forgotten.
"We salute the heroes of that fateful day, emergency-responder and civilian alike, who bravely came to aid of countless individuals in need.
"Also, as this is a day of national service, AHEPA, as a community service-oriented organization, reaffirms its commitment to community service. In addition to taking a moment to remember the victims of 9/11, we encourage you to embark on an act of community service to help strengthen our communities."
